Rajasthan Tour - A Taste of its Architectural Heritage

Selecting your favourite among the forts and palaces in Rajasthan is akin to asking a mother to pick her most beloved child from her brood. As clichéd and melodramatic as this comparison is, it’s only when you’ve visited a few of Rajasthan’s beautifully restored and preserved monuments that you’ll understand how no other comparison holds good. Of course, your budget can prevent you from experiencing the splendor of some of the palaces as they’ve been converted into fancy hotels and resorts with equally fancy prices. But this doesn’t mean those with shallow pockets need end up with a shallow Rajasthani experience! However, you have to be smart about experiencing Rajasthan’s architectural heritage on a low budget.

Indian tour operators might not suggest a drive through the length of the state but a road trip from Udaipur to Jaipur via Kumbhalgarh will give you a taste of all that you desire on a Rajasthan tour. The best part about a road trip is the flexibility that one enjoys. So even if you can’t afford to park yourself in Udaipur’s Lake Palace. You can at least park your vehicle anywhere!

A stopover at Udaipur should include visits to the City Palace and Ranakpur temples. Drive on to be impressed by the Kumbhalgarh fort and round off your road trip in Jaipur where one doesn’t have to shell out much to see the City Palace, the Amer Palace and Hawa Mahal. Agreed that Indian roads are more than bumpy ride, but fortunately the roads in Rajasthan don’t dare you to display your rally driving skills! So cheers to your drive along the dunes.

CWG 2010 Delhi - Show the World Good Parts Too

When we talk about Commonwealth Games starting in New Delhi from 3rd of October 2010, news about the the corruption involved with this game and the pictures of only Dirty Accommodations and waterlogged venues come to the mind.

I am more concern about the good pictures and the world-class architecture and design that we (Indians) have created to show the world. Why these pictures have not shown to the world? If someone has published the negative side then that must publish the positive side too. Here I am presenting some images of our Sports complexes that we have made for this mega sporting event.

These are some of the pictures of Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. Why the same media has not shown this to the entire world? I am asking them only "Have you ever seen a stadium as beautiful as this in the entire world?"

Everything has two sides, if we are exposing one then we must expose other. If some among the hundreds of CWG 2010 Delhi organizors have did the blunders, why we are only focusing on their work? Why not the appreciations have given to them who did a really wonderful work to make this mega event a grand success?

Today the event will start with the opening ceremony at 1900 Hrs (IST) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. I am sure and confident enough that India has the capability to hold any event and complete it successfully. This event will not be any exception with my believe and we will show the world that India is a country on which you can rely upon for anything. If someone want to see the pictures and videos of the venues of CWG 2010 you can find it hare http://www.cwgdelhi2010.org/gallery/dcwg/venues

I wish India very GOOD LUCK FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF CWG 2010

5 (Five) Best Holiday Ideas in India

India offers a number of travel themes that one can select for his/her holiday in India. Since India is a country with diverse culture, weather, geography and nature. There are planes as well as mountains and plateaus, ocean as well as desert and forest. One will run out of time but not the attractions here in India. Below are Five (5) Best possible (in my humble opinion) Holiday Ideas:

    1. Beach Holidays: If you are a newly wedded couple or  a group of Friends or Family, this option is just for you. Relax on the sandy beaches, take a sun bath, enjoy boating or a long ride adjacent to beach. This is also good for weekends or short breaks. You can go to Goa or Kerala or both at the same trip. Kanyakumari and Mumbai are also worth visiting.
    2. Cultural Holidays: If you like to meet people and experience their culture and tradition this is best option for you. Since the culture of India varies as you travel from north to south and east to west. You will get an experience of different culture and tradition when you travel its different geographic location.
    3. Wildlife Holidays: The best option for those who love to see different creatures in their own habitat. Watching an Indian Tiger in the wildlife of Ranthambore or Sunderbans is an experience of a life-time.
    4. Luxury Train Travel: The real MAHARAJA lifestyle experience can be taken at Palace on Wheels or on Royal Rajasthan on Wheels. It is a bit costly but is worth spending your penny. If you are luxury seeker and want to live the life of a King while on a train, it is the best option for you. It will give you a feel of how the kings (Maharajas) were treated when they were traveling.
    5. Adventure Holidays: If you love to do some adventure and see the natural beauty of Indian highlands you should go for the Adventure trip. Trekking in the Indian Himalayas in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh or Doing river rafting in the Ganges or Skiing at the snow capped mountainous slops each and every experience will be a life long memorable experience.
You can also combine any one idea with other/s to make different idea of yours. If you are planning a vacation in India, do not forget to see some more options like Festival tours, backwaters tour, heritage tours etc.
