Keoladeo Ghana National Park is popularly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. It is situated at Bharatpur in Rajasthan. It is one of the finest bird sanctuaries of India. The reserve was declared as a national park in 1982. In the year 1985, it came in the list of UNESCO's World Heritage Site. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary covers an area of approximately 29 Km2 and is just 2 km away from Bharatpur township.The sanctuary nurtures more than 375 species of birds including numerous migratory birds. A huge number of migratory birds include several species of cranes, pelicans, geese, ducks, eagles, larks and hawks to name a few. The migrants are generally come from the Siberia and Central Asia.
