Kanha National Park

Kanha national park is located in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. It extends over 122 sq mi (316 sq km) of the central highlands, at an elevation of from 2,000 ft (600 m) to 3,000 ft. Kanha National Park was originally established as the Banjar Valley Sanctuary in 1935, it became a national park in 1955 and was enlarged in 1964.

On a mission to find a tiger, one can easily catch glimpses of southern Barasingha as well as herds of Chital. On the slopes of grasslands you can spot the Sambar, Gaur and Sloth Bear coupled with the wild predators-the Leopard and Jackal and herds of Blackbuck and the wild Pig that come to the central parkland of the valley.
